As the cold weather sets in, our animals need your help more than ever. Winter is a challenging time for our animals who have often been mistreated, neglected or abandoned.
But, with your help they will spend Christmas in the care of our amazing animal welfare team.
Our sanctuary is home to many vulnerable animals, from elderly dogs and cats, to rescued farm animals like goats and horses. Keeping their shelters insulated and heated during cold nights is vital for their wellbeing.
Just like us, animals feel the cold; with your donation we can provide warm blankets, bedding and a warm environment as the temperatures drop.
A gift today could help make sure the heating stays on at Raystede, giving our animals the warmth and safety they deserve. Here’s how you could help:
We care for animals like Toto and Dots who arrived at Raystede in a shocking state. They had no idea how to behave in a home environment; they weren’t used to wearing a harness or lead, and it took a while for them to get used to using food and water bowls.
The team at Raystede got to work straight away. Their fur had become so filthy and matted that we couldn’t treat the skin beneath, so we had to clip them. We made sure they had their own safe, warm area so we could work on their anxiety. Neglect had made them very unsure of their surroundings and they weren’t ready to socialise with other animals.

Help dogs like Toto and DotsWith the loving care and support of the Kennels Team, Toto and Dots began to show signs of improvement. They were regularly bathed, walked and given lots of attention. Their skin conditions began to heal.
After two months of expert care at Raystede, Toto and Dots have now found their forever home.
