We do NOT have this virus at Raystede. We are still open and welcome visitors to the rest of the site.
One husky’s happy ending.
This delightful boy, a 3-year-old German Shepherd/Husky, was underweight, emaciated and under-socialised when he came to us. He was very wary of strangers, so he needed behavioural assessments and support in place to help him cope and get him used to people and other dogs.
At Raystede, he followed a training plan that supported his overall learning. He was a keen student with a cheeky side to his character that proved he could be a real clown!
Sadly, Koda had such a poor experience for the first year of his life and now suffers from stiff hips and a sore lower back. At Good Life Animal Physiotherapy, Koda received calming massage, stretches and a lot of pampering, which has massively helped him.
His potential adopters came to Raystede to spend time cuddling him in our indoor rooms, playing with him in our training runs and walking him on site; forming a bond with him so he felt secure. Koda needed to learn to trust they would take good care of him.
We are delighted that Koda was officially adopted by his new family in October 2024. Watch this video to follow Koda’s journey from arrival to adoption:
