The perfect day out for you and your pooch!

Raystede is looking radiant with flowers blooming and our equines are peacefully grazing in the fields. As the weather improves, heading out for a long walk with your best four-legged, canine, pal is a daily must. It just so happens that Raystede provides the perfect day out for people and their pet pooches.

Dogs on leads are more than welcome and there are plenty of beautiful sights to see, a pet goods shop to spoil your pooch, and not to mention a rather tasty cafe menu! You may even spot some some of our sheep, ponies, goats and alpaca. We care for over 400 animals, including exotic birds, tortoises and terrapins!

Dogs can't go through the Rabbitry and Small Animals area but there are plenty of other places to explore!

Picturesque Dog Walks

Our animal sanctuary rests upon a sizeable 43 acres of land in Ringmer, making it a fantastic walk for a sunny day. With stunning views, plenty of paths to explore, and lots of smells for your dog to sniff, it's an ideal setting to give your dog a sensory rich outing.

In this video you will see one of our dog walking trails. The walk is about 1km in length or around 1,300 steps, so if you’re looking to add to your 10,000 a day, this route certainly adds some substantial steps!

There are plenty of water bowls dotted around and there are shady areas too!

Please remember to book a free ticket on our website before visiting Raystede.

Spoil Your Furry Friend

We have a wonderful Pet Goods store full of everything your furry friend could possibly need! From scrumptious food, to coats for those extra chilly days, and also a dog tag engraving service, you and your best pal could spend hours exploring in our Pet Goods store.

There are always lots of bargains to be found too, discounted food, treats and preloved collars, leads, toys and beds are available. There's something to suit every budget!

Have Your Cake and Eat It

Though we all know that really a trip to Raystede is a day out for your dog you can enjoy yourself too with our delicious range of meals, snacks and cakes at our café! With every penny of profit going towards our animals and upkeep of the sanctuary, that extra-large slice of lemon drizzle can be enjoyed guilt-free!

We also have dog treats and doggy ice-cream available for your pal too, they’ll definitely deserve them after a long walk around our grounds! There’s a varied kids menu available as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

Raystede rescue dogs

Many of the dogs in our care are walked and exercised in public areas outside of busy visitor times so it's unlikely you will see them. However, if you do see any of our dogs being walked by staff or volunteers please give them space and do not approach them with your own dog. Some of the dogs in our care are anxious around strangers and unfamiliar dogs. They are receiving support and training to slowly help them feel safe in new situations. We appreciate your help with this by giving them plenty of space.

Support Our Animals

A day out at Raystede doesn’t just mean fun for you, but fun for your pooch too.

Having a sandwich in the café, purchasing your furry friend a new collar from our Pet Goods store and making a small donation or sponsoring one of our wonderful animals makes a huge difference! Spending time with your dog at our animal welfare organisation means we can continue caring for animals that desperately need our help, all thanks to you!
