If you are looking for a new challenge this summer and want to push yourself out of your comfort zone, then our fundraising events might just be what you’re looking for! From a hair-raising abseil to a high-flying wing-walk, are you looking to inject a sense of adventure into your year? Then why not challenge yourself and become a #TeamRaystede animal hero?
Take a leap of faith and abseil from the top of Brighton’s iconic i360 on Thursday 29 August!
Before beginning your challenge, you will be taken up to the viewing platform, which is 138 metres high. You will have time to admire 360-degree views of Brighton and the South Coast as you wait for your turn to drop.
The abseils will take place from 6pm, so you’ll be able to enjoy the sunset closer to the sky! And anyone over the age of 12 can take part. We just ask that you commit to raising £250 or more for Raystede’s animals.
Bethany, aged 14, abseiled for Raystede in May and said:
“Despite my fear of heights, I was committed to taking on this personal challenge to support this incredible charity, even though it meant going up 138 metres which felt like going into the sky. Once at the top the views of Brighton were breathtakingly beautiful. Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable, making sure we all knew exactly what was going to happen. I was slightly apprehensive, but wow it was a great experience, for which I am glad that I took part.”

Mia took part in a wing walk for Raystede last year and said:
“I was so nervous on the day, who wouldn’t be, however, once at Headcorn airfield I felt very reassured that I was surrounded by a very competent crew at the wingwalk company. I was most apprehensive about getting onto the wing, I needn’t have been, up I went, with a little help from the crew, ready to take to the skies. After a short wait the plane fired up and off we went. My heart was in my mouth! I can honestly say that it was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life, the view from up there is extraordinary and worth every second of apprehension.”
For both events, we’ll support you every step of the way. Whether it’s help with your fundraising or support with getting to the event, we’re here to lend a hand!
You’ll also receive a fundraising pack with your very own #TeamRaystede t-shirt.
Raystede relies on sponsorship and voluntary donations to help all the animals in our care. We have experienced a challenging few years post pandemic, plus the continuing impact of the cost-of-living crisis has meant a huge increase in the number of animals we’ve been asked to take in.
Our fundraising challenge events are an excellent way to raise vital funds for Raystede while at the same time being great fun and a life-enhancing experience!
