Equine Loan homes
We are currently seeking loan homes for two of our ponies as we feel they are too young and active to retire with our older residents.
Sparky is a 15 year old Welsh-type pony. He stands at approximately 11.2hh in height and is grey in colour. When Sparky first arrived at the centre we felt he was slightly lacking in life experience! We have since got Sparky use to being handled by people and he is now more sociable with other ponies. Sparky is a good boy for the vet, farrier and dentist and will walk nicely in hand. Ideally, we are looking for someone to take on Sparky and Remy as a pair, or alternatively someone that has one or more ponies or horses which he could be a companion to. We do not know how much (if any) previous training Sparky has had, although we do know that he has never been ridden. For this reason we are looking to home him as a companion loan pony. However, we do recognise that it is in Sparky's best interest to remain fit and mentally stimulated. It is essential that we find him the right loan home where someone experienced will be able to recognise his capabilities as well as his limitations. This will ensure he has the best possible future.
Remy is a 15 year old Welsh type pony. He stands at approximately 11.2hh in height and is grey in colour. Since Remy has been at the centre he has fitted in well with all the other ponies and is quite a sociable chap. He is more than happy to interact with people, particularly if mints are involved! Remy is happy to be led in hand and tied up while you tend to him. He enjoys being groomed and is a good boy for the vet, farrier and dentist. Ideally, we are looking for someone to take on Remy and Sparky as a pair, or alternatively someone that has one or more ponies or horses which he could be a companion to. We do not know how much (if any) previous training Remy has had, although we do know that he has never been ridden. For this reason we are looking to home him as a companion loan pony. However, we do recognise that it is in Remy's best interest to remain fit and mentally stimulated. It is essential that we find him the right loan home where someone experienced will be able to recognise his capabilities as well as his limitations. This will ensure he has the best possible future.
Loaning a rescued pony can be a very rewarding and pleasurable experience. When making your decision to take on a loan pony, we would ask you to consider the following:
- You will be fully responsible for the daily care and management needs of the pony.
- You will be responsible for all associated costs, to include; feed and bedding bills, insurance, farrier, dentist and any veterinary fees.
If you are interested in offering a loan home to Remy and Sparky,
please contact reception on (01825) 840252
Alternatively call into the centre between the hours of:10.00am - 4.00pm
(We are closed for lunch between 1.00 - 1.30pm)
When we have considered your application, someone will contact you. Once we are happy to proceed, we will make an appointment to visit the premises in which you intend to keep the pony/ponies. At this stage we will go through the compatibilities of both you and the pony.
