Could you offer me a home ?

Gerry

Gerry is a lovely friendly male cat, he is 15 years old and came to us when his elderly owner could no longer cope. When he arrived he was in a very poor state being extremely thin and infested with fleas. On further examination we found Gerry was suffering with an overactive thyroid. He has been undergoing treatment for the last 2 months and is now ready to find a loving new home. He currently has to be on calcium tablets due to complications from his thyroid surgery but we hope that will be temporary, if not he will need a small daily dose for the rest of his life. He is a gorgeous affectionate boy who loves to cuddle up next to you or sit on your lap and loves to sleep on the bed with you at night! He also likes the odd game with a piece of string!

If you feel you would like to offer this special cat a home please contact staff in the cattery who will be happy to answer any questions.

Cats available for rehoming, updated March 11th

Here are a few of our cats available, click on a photo for more information. If you would like to re-home one of our cats please read our re-homing policy and our procedure

Sweetpea
Sweetpea came in as a stray. She had a badly damaged tail possibly due to a road accident, which had to be removed. We believe she is approximately 9 years old and is a very affectionate little cat.
Beauty
Beauty came in as a stray, we believe she is approximately 13 years old. She is extremely loving and affectionate and loves a cuddle. Beauty has had a full blood profile and has been given a clean bill of health.
Widget
Widget is an adorable 13 year old female, she is a bright little cat who loves affection. Because of her age Widget has had a full blood profile done and has been given a clean bill of health, despite the fact that she has no teeth left! Though she manages very well without! She is looking for a quiet home with no dogs, cats or young children.
Belle & Bessie
Belle and Bessie are aged 18 months and 5 years, both are very friendly cats and are looking for a home together.

Gerty
Gerty is a 5 year old female. She was found as a stray so we have no history on her except that she doesn’t like dogs and isn’t too keen on other cats but she is extremely loving and friendly and would like a home where she is the only pet.
Poppy
Poppy is a 4 year old semi long haired female. Poppy was devoted to her last owner who unfortunately had to give her up due to health problems. She isn’t too keen on cattery life and would like a home of her own where she can bond with a loving new owner.
Petal
Petal is a 4 year old female, she is very sweet and loving.
Jarvis
Jarvis is looking for a special home. He is 12 years old and has a condition known as lymphoplasmacytic enteritis which is a form of bowel disease. Although this condition can't be cured it should be manageable with a special diet. Therefore he is looking for a knowledgeable home with someone who is prepared to commit to his long term care. He is an extremely loving cat who as you can see likes to sit on your shoulders or preferably a nice warm lap. He has become a firm favourite of the staff in the cattery and they are keen to find him a loving forever home!

Bebe & Blaze
Bebe and Blaze are both 7 years old female and male, Blaze is very sweet and affectionate and Bebe is a little shy, both are overweight and are on a special obesity diet. Also looking for a home together.
Mitzy & Kizzy
Mitzy and Kizzy are mother and daughter, Mitzy is 9 and Kizzy is 8 years old. They are very sweet and loving cats although both have had to be put on a diet as they are extremely overweight. Mitzy weighed in at a whopping 9.5 kg, though she has been given a clean bill of health she does need to lose a lot of weight. They are looking for a home together.
Poppy
Poppy is a 12 year old female, she is a lovely affectionate cat who loves company, she is special because she is deaf, so needs a home with no other cats, dogs or young children. She would ideally need a garden with no access to roads, as she does like to spend time outside and likes to have people around as much as possible.

Please note; other cats at Raystede are currently being assessed, and will be added to the website shortly.
Thank you.

Cattery re-homing policy

There are usually around 35 cats looking for a new home. If you would like to offer a new home to a Raystede cat, we ask the following:

You must NOT live on a busy main road
Generally speaking, any resident children must be over the age of 5 years although occasionally we have cats that may be suitable for homes with young children. Please ask cattery staff for more details
There is access to a safe outside area

If you are planning a holiday or are moving home in the next 3 months, please consider delaying your application until you are settled.

If you wish to re-home a kitten, we need to know that someone will be at home during the day to socialise and feed for the first few months.

Raystede Cats are all:

Health checked by a vet
Neutered
Vaccinated
Micro chipped
Treated against fleas and worms
Given 4 weeks free ‘Pet Plan’ insurance

TO COVER SOME OF THESE COSTS, WE ASK FOR A DONATION IN THE REGION OF £50 PER CAT/KITTEN

Taking on a rescue or homeless cat can be worthwhile and satisfying BUT it is not always easy. It will require patience, time and understanding
